Project Hope 2025 / Saturday, September 13th

A celebration of the students in our program and the people who support them, PROJECT HOPE is our only fundraiser of the year.

The event provides one-quarter of our annual income and almost three-quarters of our unrestricted income, which we use to fund our ASH College Scholarship Program, provide food assistance through Amelia’s Pantry, and support the program management services of our NGO partner in the Philippines.

Philippines Humanitarian is honored to have The Most Reverend Oscar A. Solis, Bishop of Salt Lake City, as its keynote speaker for this year’s Project Hope.

Born in the same town as our co-founder, Diosdado Hernandez, Bishop Solis found his way to Utah in 2017, when he was installed as the tenth bishop by the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City. We look forward to hearing his perspectives on the Philippines, the power of education to change lives, and the value of charity.

Bishop Solis is the first Filipino-American bishop ordained in the United States. In 2023, he was an honoree of the Carnegie Corporation of New York’s Great Immigrants Award, which recognizes immigrants who have “made notable contributions to the progress of American society.”
