KEEPING OUR EYE ON THE PRIZE:

Exciting Developments in Our College Numbers

Our ultimate goal for our students is that they graduate from college, because with a degree in hand, they have access to opportunities that significantly increase their and their family’s ability to permanently move out of poverty. While this objective sounds simple, it is not at all easy to achieve. Every one of our college graduates has had to beat immense odds, and their degree signifies an extraordinary accomplishment.

With this in mind, it’s no wonder that we’re excited by the following numbers:

101

101 of our 276 students are currently enrolled in college. In other words, 37% of the students we help are within reach of obtaining their college degrees.

40

40 of our students are in Preparatory College (Grades 11 and 12), and all of them are on track to enroll in college after they graduate (in 2022, only 1 of the 30 graduating 12th Graders

did not go on to college). This means that just over half of our students are either in college or are actively preparing for it.

34

34 ASH Scholarships were granted by our Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 school year, up from 24 in 2022 and 13 in 2021. Funded by money raised at Project Hope and other donations, these scholarships allow us to substantially increase the number of college students in our programs.

19

19 students are set to graduate in the spring of 2024. This number is up from 16 graduates in 2023, 8 in 2022, and 4 in 2021.

34

34 students are in their first year of college, demonstrating a strong pipeline that will allow for a continued increase in the size of our graduating classes.
